Axium Places 15th on the Oregon Business Magazine Top 100 Companies to Work For

For the Fourth Consecutive Year, Axium is Recognized by Oregon Business Magazine in its Annual Top 100 Companies to Work For

Portland, Oregon – March 7th, 2012 — For the fourth year in a row, Axium, a leading developer of accounting and project management software for engineering and architecture firms, places in Oregon Business Magazine’s Top 100 Companies to Work For in the medium-sized company category.

“We strive to create a collaborative and fun workplace for our employees,” said Cathy Mills, President.  “It’s our belief that such a work environment provides the best for our staff and in turn for our clients and the AE industry we serve. We’re honored to place on the Top 100 Best Companies for the 4th year in a row.”

Mills says the primary goal Axium must achieve with the environment they have created is supporting the growth curve the company is experiencing.

“With Axium’s continued growth, comes a responsibility to our employees and to our clients to support them,” said Mills. “Axium has experienced very little employee turnover and we continue to attract great new employees.  We’ve put an emphasis on the number of resources we have supporting our client base and in evolving our software for the future.  Our client satisfaction numbers show that, thus far, we’ve been able to not just support the growth, but leverage it.”

Trends from this year’s Top 100 survey showed Axium’s employees appreciated the increased number of training opportunities offered by the company.  They also continue to appreciate the flexibility and work-life balance.

“Last year, we saw that employees were interested in additional training opportunities,” said Mills. “We’ve made more training available at our office and stepped up our off-site training options.  While we have improved in a majority of the categories we continue to use these results as a guide for further improvement.

Oregon Business Magazine surveys both employers and employees of thousands of businesses around the State. Employees complete a job satisfaction survey, and a company representative completes a survey describing benefits and workplace policies. The 100 Best list recognizes large, medium and small companies for excellence in work environment, management and communications, decision-making and trust, career development and learning, and benefits and compensation.

Axium Releases Schedule Manager for Architecture and Engineering Firms as Part of Ajera 7

Schedule Manager Helps Architecture and Engineering Firms Reduce Time Spent on Resource Planning and Boost Profitability

Portland, Oregon – Feb 7th, 2012 — — Axium, developer of accounting and project management software for architecture and engineering firms, announced the release of Ajera 7 and a new project scheduling interface, Schedule Manager. Schedule Manager was designed to help architecture and engineering firms reduce the time it takes to manage project schedules, increase employee utilization rates, and prevent project overruns.

“Most architecture and engineering firms spend hours every week cross-checking project schedules against employee timesheets and their project reports,” said Brian Siefkes, Product Strategist. “Then they have to go back and re-enter data from one program to the other and there’s a lot of billable time lost to these overhead activities. But, it’s the only way that firms can keep projects on track and employee utilization rates high.”

Ajera’s new Schedule Manager combines employee timesheet data and future scheduled hours to give an instant snapshot of project budgets, making it easy for architecture and engineering firms to see if their project is on track or on its way to going over budget.

“We wanted the interface to be easy to work with, yet powerful enough to give instant feedback on project and employee workloads,” said Siefkes. “The feedback we’re getting from project managers at architecture and engineering firms is that they’re able to instantly jump in and start using Schedule Manger, which is affirmation that we’ve accomplished our goal.”

Architecture and Engineering Software Company, Axium, Reaches 2011 Inc. 5000 List

Portland, Oregon – September 12th, 2011 —Axium, a leading developer of accounting and project management software for architects and engineers, has made the 2011 Inc. 5000 list, placing as the #3700 fastest growing company in the country and 37th regionally.

Axium reported a 42% growth rate in the last three years at a time when the architecture, engineering and construction industries have been badly hit by a slowing economy.

“For Axium to maintain a strong growth rate in this economic climate is a real testament to the solid foundation that our employees have built,” said Alan Mills, CEO. “We continue to focus on putting the interests of the AE industry we serve first. Architecture and engineering firms aren’t just seeing the benefit of our products but also in aligning with a financially stable company that is responsive to their needs, with a continued long term commitment to their industry.”

Axium credits the size of the firm and its commitment to specific business fundamentals to much of its success.

“We’ve been unwilling to compromise certain business fundamentals. Our US based support department answers 80% of calls in 30 seconds or less. From day one, our clients get to work with highly skilled team members that understand their industry,” said Mills. “Our growth combined with our size allows us to stay nimble. We’ll switch directions quickly if we see an opportunity to enhance our clients’ businesses and grow the company.”

Despite many sectors of the construction industry continuing to lag, the market has stabilized and created an environment where Axium feels they are well positioned.

“The opportunity for Axium has never been as big as it is right now,” said Mills. “We continue to hire for key positions to support our growing client base and keep our foot on the gas. We’ve set and met aggressive revenue targets in this economy and we see no reason that can’t continue.”
